This type (#circulareconomy) of legislation is but the first courageous step towards what is required. I’m sure more is on its way in NSW and other jurisdictions will soon follow (if not already ahead of the game).

However, just like our little composting bins from our councils, a new service needs to be implemented to collect spent batteries (of all types) from the consumer. It seems that battery collection points in stores or shopping centres is insufficient to alter lazy consumer behaviour. A battery bin next to your food waste bin is the way to change #consumerbehavior behaviour.
