Looking at early Christianity, there was God, the Word, and Life (see John 1:1-4). In Gnostic terms, you might label this triad the Monad, the Logos, and Sophia. There's just something so satisfying about a trinity, much like a trilogy.

Personally, I like the formulation of Love, Light, and Life, which aligns with assertions that God is Love and Christ is the Light of the world. Here "light" is a metaphor for revelation, the thing that allows understanding, language, logic, etc. In other words, the Logos.

So what do you think? Aren't triads a bit more fun than dyads? Do you have any other examples to add of systems where triads are useful?
