Police questioned Muslim Association of Britain chair, Raghad Altikriti, over a Palestine solidarity protest earlier this year.
A small demonstration gathered outside Holborn Police Station on Wednesday to show support for Raghad and oppose the Metropolitan Police’s decision to call her in for questioning.
“It isn't a pleasant experience. That being called for something, for standing for justice and against oppression is something that would shake anyone,” Raghad Altakriti told Middle East Eye after her Police questioning.
Altikriti said the police had summoned her for an interview over an alleged public order offence during a large protest in London, back in January. “I mean, our strength is driven from the fact that we are confident that we have been largely peaceful with even statements from the police confirming that.
We're standing by justice. We're standing against the genocide,” she added. “To be honest, it makes us even stronger, because the fact is, that all this intimidation and restrictions just makes us think that we should continue and that it's not about an individual.”
Altikriti is one of several individuals who have been summoned by police over alleged public order offences. Letters were also issued to Stop the War coalition officers Lindsey German, Alex Kenny and Andrew Murray, and Friends of Al-Aqsa chair Ismail Patel.
