Another Impossible Mission variation:
- Bigger pixels.
- Rays done with metallic thread (looks very nice in person)
- different hero sprite.
- "Nothing here"

Lichen; net, 2025.
An experiment in combining separate embroideries into one piece.
Trying to learn embroidery so I've been messing around with thread tension to see what effect it has. Finding out by experimentation! I definitely learned what too much does
I also messed around with changing thread colors to get a feel for that process when embroidering. I'm having fun, this is neat.
Any Q*Bert fan around here ?
- ~34k stitches
- 6 colors
- pixel size: 5.5mm
- pull compensation: 0.25
Total stitch time: ~2 hours
Rough applique piece using odds and ends - including an old linocut on canvas.
Little experiment. Combining freehand machine embroidery with knot stitch.
Used "pull compensation" of 0.25mm.
Needle: 90/14
Stabilizers: double. No-show mesh fusible
I liked the end result... except that it is not totally centered... perhaps one cm to the right.
Throwing (well, carefully pinning) ideas at the wall - hoping something sticks.
Work in progress on another lichen freehand machine embroidery piece.
