@jewishreader This is exactly why when it first came out, I, a Star Trek nut, panned it as "silly." Years later when I watched it I was ready. I loved it. I've watched the series 3 times.
@Nonya_Bidniss @jewishreader The first (or one of the first?) tv series with long story and character arcs. Evergreen themes of morality, ethics, slippery slope leading to fascism, etc etc. Doesn't lean too hard on random tech mumble things to save the day.

@jewishreader Hang in there first season is a bit rough, but it hits its stride halfway into the second one. So just like most Trek :)
