OK the good thing about a new social media platform where I have not a single family member is that I can say...
MY SIBLINGS' IN-LAWS ARE SO FRUSTRATING.
They have demanded, yes, that is the word they use, to have Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Day with the grandkids so my parents have to work around it.
EVERY YEAR.
And whatever, I've learned to deal with being alone on Christmas Eve and Christmas and now it's fine because I like spending time with myself.
But when I was younger and depressed and sad about being single and didn't have family celebrations because my siblings' in-laws are selfish, it was really really hard.
Now I just go hiking.
But my parents never, literally never, get the actual holiday with their grandkids.
See also Thanksgiving and Easter.
@Bronwyn sorry to knock your siblings but why don’t they stand up for their parents? The in-laws may be selfish but why are they being allowed to get away with it?
@lorin oh BELIEVE ME I am also mad at them.
They are both like, "Well, I don't want to make my spouse's life more difficult in their family issues."
And both my siblings HATE this but they won't do anything!
