I love that I can interact with the wider network but also have a home base of people in my area talking about what’s going on locally (why I chose sfba over an interest-centric server). I also love what it’s not - Twitter et al always felt like a mall food court masquerading as the town square. Yes I could visit, but the intent was always to get me to buy something & it got more intrusive as profit margins demanded.
