Many Americans won't touch the it, and spend the extra on
nonchlorinated.

There is huge overproduction in the US and much of it gets
destroyed, hence Trump's desire to palm it off on others ie us.

Same with lots of agricultural products which have required the use
of persistent and dangerous pesticides many carcinogenic, again
gets destroyed so let the Brits have it.

The Americans do not want labelling showing the country of origin -
they say this discriminates against US farmers. | kid you not.

The Americans also want to scrap the EU protection on original
products. So we will have Cornish pastries made in Missouri with
hormones, steroids, harmful pesticides and fertilisers. And Stilton
Cheese made in Oklahoma - with the same ingredients.

It doesn't look like much of Westminster really knows what to do, does it?

Griffith insisted that Labour ought to have already negotiated a free trade
deal with the US and not to have done so was negligence. Someone should
have reminded him that the Tories had had eight years to come up with
something and failed. I guess amnesia is a coping strategy for him. He also
wanted to congratulate himself on the rare sighting of a Brexit bonus.
Somehow a 10% tariff was a huge success and a complete disaster. Make up
your mind, guys.

The rest of the debate passed off in respectful bemusement as no one really
knows what’s going on. Emily Thornberry got a laugh by asking if Boris
Johnson had any ideas on a trade deal, but otherwise Reynolds stuck to his
holding pattern. A deal was there to be made. The only drawback is it’s with
Trump. So everything is in the air. Situation Normal All Fucked Up.

The only 'Special Relationship' right now is between Gilead and Russia....

Westminster better wake up or fuck off, we get 10% tariffs, Russia gets special treatment.

With 10% tariffs on UK exports to the US there's no point in a deal
and far, far more important for HMG to refocus efforts on UK EU
trade improvements. We can shield each other to an extent from
Trump by doing that. Just get on with it. Common sense deal.

Trump is no friend of the UK. So now the government must focus
on the EU. Our research with Frontier Economics shows closer
trade ties with the EU could cancel out the impact of Trump's
tariffs AND boost GDP by up to 1.5%.

Trump is charging 10% tariffs on UK goods & 20% on EU goods.
It was estimated that 20% tariffs would cost UK 0.8% GDP.

So let's say today's tariffs will cost 0.4%.

So Brexit saved us 0.4% in US trade, but cost us 4% in EU trade.
Anyone calling Trump tariffs a "Brexit Success” CAN'T FUCKING
COUNT!

Trump is putting tariffs on uninhabited sub-Antarctic islands and basing the tariff percentages on numbers they are pulling from their ass....but Westminster is 'excited' to strike a deal with the Mad King sometime soon?!

Do we get a vote on it at least? Will we be allowed to see the deal before our MPs vote?
