Just opened up my phone to find some unprintable motherfucking asshole installed four games on it.

I don't know how to even find out if it was Google, Samsung, or Verizon who did that to me. I'm just mad as fuck.

(Yes, I already uninstalled all of them.)

If I rooted my phone, would that stop shenanigans like that?

#flickr archive post of the day: more of a collage than a photo, an overview of all the cell phones I had owned up to that point (late 2011). After the S2, I kept switching between #Android (Pixel) and #iPhone until about 4 years ago when I got the my iPhone 12 and haven't looked back since. I always keep an eye on the #Pixel line-up, usually well-made phones, a good value, free of bloatware and supported for a long time.

Newly Registered Domains Distributing SpyNote Malware

Cybercriminals are employing deceptive websites on newly registered domains to distribute AndroidOS SpyNote malware. These sites imitate the Google Chrome install page on the Google Play Store, tricking users into downloading SpyNote, a powerful Android remote access trojan. SpyNote is used for surveillance, data exfiltration, and remote control of infected devices. The investigation uncovered multiple domains, IP addresses, and APK files associated with this campaign. The malware utilizes various C2 endpoints for communication and data exfiltration, with functions designed to retrieve and manipulate device information, contacts, SMS, and applications.

starting to learn #friction a motion graphics package.
So far all the "bugs" I've found have been operator errors and misunderstandings.

I have a #svg graphic of a bicycle I found on #openclipart following a path that was made from a #gps
track off an #android phone using #viking to view a #OSM map and route and turned into a svg path in #gimp & #inkscape.

Yet to do;
turn the png frames into the video using #shotcut and some music and posted to a nextcloud server.

"Google’s mobile operating system Android will now automatically reboot if the phone is locked for three days in a row.

On Monday, the tech giant pushed updates to Google Play services, a core part of Android that provides functionalities for apps and the operating system itself. Listed under “Security & Privacy” is a new security feature that “will automatically restart your device if locked for 3 consecutive days.”

Last year, Apple rolled out the same feature for iOS. The thinking behind adding an automatic reboot after a certain period of inactivity is to make life more difficult for someone who is trying to unlock or extract data from a phone; for example, law enforcement using a forensic analysis device like those made by Cellebrite or Magnet Forensics."
