I'm having a random evening doing the #LOTRO Forester Event, while also doing some drawing in between rounds. I'm probably running out of foresters too at this point.
And I'm not the make-loads-of-lowbie-characters-to-grind-it kinda player.
The rewards for not winning the race are worth it and there's no pressure then. You just exchange for Winner's Ribbons instead.
It seems that #Paris has gained a new embassy to house a delegation of #Orcs from #Mordor

Beechbone from #middleearth; an ent who fought while literally on fire. If only our real forests could walk away from flames. Support wildfire prevention efforts. Even Saruman was a fan of forest management. https://l.d20.ninja/2p8cnnk4 #MiddleEarth #LordOfTheRings #GamesWorkshop #Miniatures #TabletopGaming #Wargaming #blazingsquad

Pretty damn happy as I received this today. I've been after a copy for ages and now finally have one. Great condition, too. #TTRPG #MiddleEarth #MERP
'As we walk into the map library, we are surrounded by Middle-earth. Mordor, the Shire and all points in between are represented. And not just Middle-earth. Fonstad created works for other fantasy worlds — some never published.
'How do you scan a collection of maps of varying sizes, some of them in delicate condition?
'You need a big scanner, caution and some patience.'

From earlier, Glinmaethor given a "fetch my stuff for cheap pay" task by a Gondorian businesswoman.
Glin was called a "dolt" by her. She prefers that to "war hero" and other lofty titles. Simple jobs are important.
After all, if someone can't do a simple job properly, don't give them responsibility over something much harder. A lesson our world would benefit from remembering, to be honest.
Middle Earth is my go-to escape from reality. But it’s not only escape: I feel that it’s written to strengthen and aid the reader for life, just like Gandalf’s purpose was to encourage men, elves, and dwarves to resist Sauron.
[caption id="attachment_17086" align="aligncenter" width="720"] Gildor Inglorion is a mysterious character in ‘The Lord of the Rings’, but we have as many questions about how he and his people traveled across Middle-earth as about him. Here is what we know.[/caption]
An Elf and a Ranger were camping out in Eriador one night. As they lay in their blankets, the Elf nudged the Ranger and said, […]

The conflicts between various Númenorean factions can be portrayed as clashes between conservative and liberal elements. Is there sufficient evidence to deduce what went […]
New Gundabad Cave Troll Catapult - when heavy metal meets actual rock. This lad's not just carrying the band's equipment, he IS the equipment. Middle-earth's most reluctant roadie touring in April. https://l.d20.ninja/3zw89z37 #MiddleEarth #GamesWorkshop #TabletopGaming #Miniatures #Wargaming
I had had to go so long not playing my main #LOTRO character that yesterday I totally ignored the festival and continued on with questing.
Admittedly, I used both the new cosmetic pet and mount /from/ Spring Festival but I was so glad to finally get to continue the [Epic] (the LOTRO equivalent of 'MSQ' in FF14).
I haven't made it to Umbar yet, but steadily going through King's Gondor. Which is AOK.
"In the land of Mordor, in the fires of Mount Doom, the Dark Lord Sauron forged in secret, a master ring, to control all others. And into this ring he poured all his cruelty, his malice and his will to dominate all life. One ring to rule them all."
All shot using real lighting, figures and miniature sets.

Similar source to the other one but in a different style. Seems cute and colorful but also a little weird, a little spooky. The tree on the left is twisted in a weird way, and moving to the right things get stranger and more monstrous. But she kept a storybook style, it seems like you wouldn't get nightmares if you saw it at age six. I was a kid that read LOTR.

#TTRPG idea I’ll probably never realize: A campaign set in #MiddleEarth, following the tracklist of #BlindGuardian’s 'Nightfall in Middle-Earth"
Having the PCs take part in those big events themselves wouldn’t really work. Instead, maybe the heroes, in the Third Age, collect Elven songs and stories that match the album’s songs—perhaps for Bilbo’s collection? Along the way, they experience events that reflect those themes or visit places tied to them.
At Westmoot in May I'm hoping to highlight echoes of Middle-earth right here in Middle America.
While preparing, I was reminded of the last time I tried to do something like this: my kooky "111th Birthdays Quiz" comparing/contrasting the Weatherbird and Bilbo for STLtoday.com.
I'll escape to #MiddleEarth tonight.
