Andere Idee: Eins kann doch in der nextcloud auch externe Laufwerke einbinden. Kann ich die #pCloud via WebDAV in die #nextcloud einbinden?
Dann müsste ich keinen Homeserver betreiben sondern könnte die nextcloud bei irgendeinem hoster laufen lassen und die zig TB könnten in der pCloud liegen.

Vorhin Gespräch mit einem Nachbarn, der zZt noch die #Dropbox nutzt, aber nun auf ein europäisches System umstellen möchte. Eine eigene #NextCloud-Installation ist ihm zu aufwändig. Ich habe ihn einerseits - da er #Telekom-Kunde ist - auf die #MagentaCloud hingewiesen, die als Nextcloud-Derivat bei der Telekom zur Verfügung steht, und andererseits auf die #pCloud. Er will das nun ausprobieren und sich dann entscheiden.

* Spent most of my overnight hours of awakeness backing up all of my phone and other pictures to pCloud, my chosen cloud service.

I have 2TB of storage with them, and have been very happy with the service for quite a few years.
Daily I sync pCloud to a local Hard Drive for extra backup.

Das Geschäftsmodell von #pCloud erschließt sich mir nicht so ganz.
Wenn sie grundsätzlich alle Pläne als Einmalzahlungen anlegen, wie soll das nachhaltig funktionieren?
Selbst Web ich davon ausgehe, dass Speicherpreise wie bisher fallen, kann ich doch schon allein für die Verwaltung keine 99 Jahre realisieren.

I have to chose between learning how to move my posts on #pixelfeed into a new server since the admin doesn't like anything other than english, norwegian or english posted there.
And here I am thinking the IG and Meta apps sucked!
I really have to find a way to set up my own #server, both for #friendlica and pixelfeed, I just wait until I have my final home and then set up a small server with raid disk to have my email, social media and personal data mirrored into my #pcloud server as backup.
So no more #google, #meta, or mini dictators on local servers controlling my data.
I've been thinking of switching from Sync to pCloud - mainly to consolidate my family's separate cloud storage and to serve as a good home for video materials for projects.
The 10TB Family plan is a steep up-front, but seems worthwhile.
Anyone have issues with it? Anyone love it? Thoughts?
