Ok fedifam, I asked yesterday about if there's an online tool to check what ad tracking BS your #browser is leaking and surprisingly got no answer so I got off my butt and hunted it down.
Unsurprisingly of course the #EFF has a tool.

1) SKRED: l'unica app di messaggistica P2P europea. Vista la scarsa esperienza utente di Jami, mi chiedevo se qualcuno avesse provato SKRED.. funziona bene?
2) Tolto Mullvad Browser, fork di Firefox, l'unico browser di una società europea sembra essere Vivaldi. Nessun altro browser 
not sure what the initial slowness problem was but #mullvad works great now. Although, I had to split tunnel tidal (music stopped when the vpn shut off the internet after about 1,5 songs) and willhaben (they detect the vpn and don't allow it) but the rest of the apps work fine.
So I see that #mozilla is getting a lot of rightful criticism for their switch in privacy. Beyond a hardened privacy fork like #librewolf or #mullvad what options exist for browsers and for email clients like thunderbird?
To me I want to ditch big tech as much as possible. I’m fine making a compromise to use a Firefox fork like Librewolf, and #thunderbird as an email client. However, I also want to be educated on better alternatives anyone has them

Well OK, my ISP/goBerment does not know what I am browsing, torrenting. But #Mullvad knows?
Still, I guess it's better because I use static IP at home (for my own personal #Exim mail server), so general browsing might be a bit more private. Though browsers are still easily fingerprinted...
Also, felt nice paying with #Bitcoin via #LightningNetwork, so there's that too.

@JustinDerrick if you are a @tailscale customer they have an à la cart option for #Mullvad's service. I expose it to a couple of my devices but i also know any email service, notifications service, browsing, sync operations can still correlate those exit node addresses to me.
one of my sisters thought a vpn would mean her employer wouldn't know what she's doing on her phone or even mitigating against bluetooth exploits. it's maddening how much bad information there is about VPNs.
